EGCA hi res

Welcome to Ernesford Grange Community Academy Library

The School Library is an excellent space for students to come to read, complete homework or use the computers. With a comfortable Reading Zone for those focused on the books, a Small Group Area for team activities or multiplayer games, as well as over a thousand fiction books, non-fiction books and 13 computers for student use the library has something for everyone!

The Library is open at 8:30 Tuesday to Friday for students to complete homework or enjoy reading before school.

Homework Club is 3pm to 4pm Monday to Thursday. This supervised session encourages students to work quietly with the support of the librarian and the use of the library resources.

Literacy Assessment Online:

Ernesford students use Literacy Assessment online to find out their reading age. This then allows them to select books which are suitable or challenging for their reading ability.  The library runs the library portal, Eclipse. This integrated system can be accessed online and there is even an app available! Students can search for books suitable for their reading age, read the blurbs and even write their own reviews.

New fiction books are added to the library shelves regularly, so Eclipse is a great way to keep up to date with what's new!

The English department and library work closely together to nurture a love of reading within the school.

Students taking a test for Literacy Assessment Online can follow the instructions here:
