Meet our new Head Girl and Head Boy

After a thorough application and interview process, Sophie Bagley and Nirosan Muralitharan were successfully appointed to Head Boy and Head Girl.

Sophie is driven to attend University and is currently studying Maths, Physics and History. The interview panel were hugely impressed with how passionately Sophie spoke about Ernesford Grange and the experience she has had since joining in Year 7. Sophie is proud of our school and is keen to promote our core values to the school and community.

Nirosan is also applying for University and is studying Maths, Physics and Chemistry. In his interview, Nirosan demonstrated excellent communication skills and spoke engagingly about how he feels he can further develop the school in his role as Head Boy. Nirosan is eager to share his experiences with the school and especially wants to support Year 11 in the build-up to their exams and with their Post 16 choices.

 Spring Term 2 Update

This half-term has been a productive one for the Student Leadership Team (SLT)

We have been supporting the Maths department in monitoring and developing the use of numeracy across the curriculum. Each member of the SLT worked closely with a house to collect a range of Student Voice about how numeracy is delivered in the wide variety of subjects students study. All of the responses were carefully recorded and passed on to Maths department who will use the information to further drive the delivery of numeracy across the curriculum.

This half-term also included a number of events for Year 11. All year 11 students attended a busy careers fayre and the opportunity to experience a day-on-the-life of Sixth Form or College. In addition, we had a well-attended Next Steps evening, which supported students in exploring the different options available to them after their GCSEs. Our Head Boy and Head Girl presented to a busy theatre of students and parents. They were keen share their experiences of Sixth Form and give students a unique insight into the life of a Post 16 student. Following their presentation, Nirosan and Sophie spoke to a number students and parents, answering all of their questions about studying Level 3 qualifications.
